185 DQC rules Every filing validated against the XBRL US Data Quality Committee rule set (v29, March 2026)

The most rigorous XBRL filing pack a public company can send.

Filewright assembles a documentation-complete SEC filing pack — every required tag, every DQC validation, the EDGAR submission package, and the accuracy memo — checked against the current US-GAAP taxonomy and SEC EDGAR Filing Manual before a CPA-led reviewer releases it.

Why filings fail

A single tagging error can trigger an SEC comment letter or EDGAR rejection.

Every U.S. public company must submit financial statements in Inline XBRL, with every number, footnote, and accounting policy individually tagged to the US-GAAP taxonomy. Tagging is deadline-critical, error-prone, and either bundled inside six-figure software licenses (Workiva, DFIN, Toppan Merrill) or handed to low-cost filing shops that produce comment-letter-bait.

Most issuers run this by hand, from memory, once or twice a year. The taxonomy has not been read end-to-end since the last time it mattered. That is exactly where completeness gaps hide.

Filewright exists to close that gap with a single, exhaustive standard applied identically to every file.

The benchmark

Measured against the letter of the SEC mandate — rule by rule.

We do not summarize the rules and hope. Every filing is scored against a versioned rule pack tied to the exact text of the EDGAR Filing Manual and XBRL US DQC rules. These are the provisions each filing is held to.

DQC Rules v29

185 automated validation rules

Every DQC rule (v29, March 2026) is run and resolved — no exceptions unless documented and approved by the reviewer.

SEC EDGAR Filing Manual

EDGAR submission package

The filing package is built to EDGAR specifications, including the Inline XBRL document, exhibit links, and fee data (mandatory July 31, 2025).

US-GAAP Taxonomy

Element selection & custom extensions

Every monetary value, percentage, and count is tagged to the correct standard element; custom extensions are created only when no standard element exists, with documented rationale.

SEC Rule 405 & S-X

Calculation relationships & dimensions

Calculation relationships foot, dimensions and periods are consistent, and the filing passes EDGAR's validation without errors.

EDGAR Next (Sept 2025)

Access control & enrollment

Filer enrollment and access controls comply with EDGAR Next requirements (login.gov + MFA + two administrators).

SEC Comment Letter History

Prior comment letter remediation

Any prior SEC comment letters related to XBRL tagging are reviewed and addressed in the current filing.

How a filing is built

Intake to CPA-led release, with deterministic gates the AI cannot overrule.

AI extracts and drafts. Deterministic rules — running as code, outside the model — decide what is complete. A CPA-led reviewer signs every release. That order is never reversed.

01

Gap Scan

Upload the draft financials (Word/Excel). We return a free completeness read: which tags, validations, and EDGAR elements you already have, and which are missing.

02

AI auto-tagging & mapping

Our AI engine ingests the draft, auto-tags to the current US-GAAP taxonomy, and maps all elements, dimensions, and periods.

03

DQC validation & EDGAR prep

All 185 DQC rules are run; the EDGAR submission package is built, including Inline XBRL and fee data.

04

Deterministic completeness gates

Every tag is reconciled to the source; calculation relationships foot; dimensions are consistent; EDGAR validation passes. Any failure blocks release.

05

CPA-led accuracy review & sign-off

A credentialed financial-reporting reviewer (CPA-led) reviews element selection, custom extensions, and calculation relationships, and signs the accuracy memo.

06

Delivery

You receive the validated, DQC-clean, EDGAR-accepted filing package, accuracy memo, and data-quality report — ready for the issuer to submit under its own name.

Why Filewright

Built to be the most thorough option a public company has.

Documentation-complete, by design

The deliverable is completeness itself — every tag, validation, and EDGAR element accounted for or explicitly exception-coded. Nothing is left implicit.

Deterministic, not vibes

The gates that decide completeness are code, not a model's opinion. A tagging error cannot slip past a DQC rule.

In its lane, on purpose

We prepare documentation and run validations as your clerical agent. We never provide legal advice, audit opinions, or make filing decisions.

Engagement

Flat fee, per released filing. No contingency, ever.

Simple, predictable, and aligned with a documentation standard — not a cut of any recovery.

  • A free Gap Scan before you commit — see exactly what is missing.
  • One flat fee per released filing; disclosed pass-through search fees (if any).
  • Optional fixed-fee attorney review for complex or high-value filings.

FAQ

Questions, answered precisely.

Is Filewright a law firm?
No. Filewright, a service of Your Deputy, Obuke LLC, provides documentation-completeness services. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not represent you in any legal matter. CPA-led review is available and recommended for complex filings.
Do you file with the SEC on my behalf?
No. Filewright prepares the filing package and validates it, but the issuer remains the filer and is responsible for submitting the filing to EDGAR under its own credentials.
What makes a filing 'complete'?
Completeness is defined by the SEC mandate: all required tags present, all DQC rules passed, EDGAR validation passed, calculation relationships foot, dimensions consistent, and a CPA-led accuracy memo signed. Deterministic gates enforce each one before release.
How fast is it?
The standard SLA is five business days from complete intake to a CPA-reviewed release. The free Gap Scan is returned much sooner and tells you exactly what is still needed.
How are you priced?
A flat fee per released filing, plus disclosed pass-through costs (if any). No contingency and no percentage of any recovered amount or sale proceeds.
