Rejection is rarely about craftsmanship — it's a document-completeness failure the AE catches before they ever review the product. These are the bounce modes that trigger Revise and Resubmit and stall the buyout of your long-lead equipment.
General catalog submitted without highlighting the applicable model on the multi-page cut sheet. Under typical Division 01 §013300 language, an unmarked catalog is returned without review.
A named certification or test report is missing — the UL listing, AHRI rating, or NSF certificate the section calls out by name isn't attached.

Do you approve the product or the substitution?
No. CutSheet Clear prepares product-data documentation the contractor directs. We do not stamp drawings, provide engineering judgment, or approve substitutions. Review actions and any "or-equal" substitution approval belong to the design professional (AE/PE). We never claim a guaranteed AE approval.
Is this shop-drawing or BIM detailing?
No. A pack is product data — cut sheets, certifications, compliance matrix, and transmittal for one CSI section. We don't produce shop drawings, CAD, or BIM details, and we don't fabricate or ship physical samples. If you need drawings, we'll refer you to a detailing shop.
What counts as a "complete" pack?
Every required submittal item in the section is matched to your product or explicitly listed on the chase list; every applicable catalog page is highlighted; every named certification type is attached or chased; the transmittal carries the section reference; and every matrix row cites a source page. A specialist signs the QA checklist before release.
Will an AI-drafted matrix put a wrong number in front of the AE?
