Every out-of-state deal: plate on the car, title perfected, lender funded — or we chase it until it's done.
Send us the deal jacket. We return a certified, destination-state-correct title & registration packet — right taxes, right forms, every signature flagged before your buyer leaves the store. Flat fee per deal. Never hourly.
A private document-processing desk acting as your authorized agent. Not a DMV, not a law firm — see disclosures below.
Fifty states. Fifty rule sets. One single-state clerk.
Out-of-state buyers hit 9.3% of mainstream and 13.1% of luxury purchases in Q1 2026 (Experian data) — and the buyer's home state controls the paperwork. When the packet is wrong, the damage stacks:
- The missed signature. Discovered after delivery, it's a FedEx round-trip against an expiring temp tag — instead of a 30-second fix at your desk.
- The rejected packet. Wrong form revision, wrong tax base, missing notarization — weeks of re-work while your customer calls about their tag.
- The funding hold. Lien not perfected in the destination state, lender won't release — you float the deal.
- The aged-title drawer. Floorplan and auction title audits flag it; late-title penalties accrue on it.
- The regulator. Connecticut extracted $1.5M from Carvana over title and registration delays; Florida filed a 47-count complaint against Vroom. Title delay is now a consumer-protection issue in the enforcement climate — for every dealer.
How the desk works
A nine-step production line runs behind this — you see four simple touchpoints.
Send the deal jacket
Email or upload the deal jacket — scans and phone photos accepted. Missing anything? You get the list back in minutes, while it's fixable.
Quote & checklist before you desk
Exact tax, title, and registration cost for the buyer's home jurisdiction in 30 minutes — plus a delivery-day checklist of every signature and document that state needs while the buyer is in your store.
Certified packet, submitted
Complete packet within 48 hours of a complete deal jacket — computed by deterministic fee engines, verified and certified by a senior title specialist, then submitted through the right channel.
Tracked to the plate
We monitor the submission, chase stalls, cure any rejection, confirm lien perfection to your lender, and report weekly until the plate and title actually issue.
Flat, per-outcome pricing
Never hourly. State taxes and government fees are always pass-through at actual cost, with receipts — we never mark up government money.

Certification gate A packet cannot leave the desk while a requirement lacks a citation to the destination state's rule, the fee calculator and its cross-check disagree, or the specialist certification is unsigned. If a certified packet is rejected for our error, we cure it free and refund that unit's fee; if our computed fee differs from the state's final figure due to our error, we pay the difference.
Client results, named references, and first-pass acceptance statistics will appear here once pilot engagements complete and dealers approve publication. PlateReady does not publish fabricated testimonials or invented metrics — what you will see here is measured and attributable.
Free Exposure Scan
Send two reports — your DMS aged-title report and your last 90 days of out-of-state deals. Within 48 hours you get your Exposure Scan memo: units at risk, penalty exposure by state, expired-tag liabilities, estimated funding-hold carry, and the three fastest cures. No meeting required. It's the exact work we do for paying clients, run once on your data, free.
FAQ
Are you a DMV or a government agency?
No. PlateReady is a private document-processing service acting as your authorized agent under a written engagement. We prepare, verify, and track title and registration work in your name; the state issues the plate and title.
Who actually checks the work?
Software computes the fees deterministically and a second, independent check must match before anything moves. Then a senior title specialist personally certifies every packet before submission — every packet carries a named certifier and a full audit trail. Nothing ships uncertified.
What if a packet you certified gets rejected?
If the error is ours, we cure it free and refund that unit's fee. If our computed tax or fee differs from the state's final figure because of our error, we pay the difference. Rejections caused by state-side issues or missing dealer documents are cured at no extra fee as part of the engagement — we chase until it issues.
Can you make the state go faster?
No one can promise state processing times. What we control — and report separately — is packet time: complete deal jacket to certified submission in 48 hours. State time is tracked, chased weekly, and escalated when it stalls, and your dashboard always shows which clock a unit is on.
Do you handle Montana LLC registrations?
No. We do not provide or assist with residency structuring or any arrangement whose purpose is avoiding taxes owed to the buyer's home state. We title vehicles where the buyer actually lives. Lenders and regulators read this policy as a feature — so do we.
Which states can you process today?
We activate states deliberately: each destination state goes live only after its rules file is complete and cited, its fee calculator is validated, sample packets are verified, and its licensing requirements are confirmed — including using licensed partner channels where a state requires them. Ask and we'll tell you exactly which states are live and when yours activates.
What does onboarding look like?
Two business days from your signed engagement: authorization letter, state-account inventory (e.g., your webDEALER access), secure document channel, and your aged-title report — which gets you the baseline Exposure Scan memo whether or not you buy anything else.
Disclosures
PlateReady is a private document-processing service acting as an authorized agent of the dealer. PlateReady is not a law firm, accounting firm, or government agency, and does not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. Title disputes, ownership contests, and lien-priority questions are referred to licensed counsel. State taxes and government fees are collected or advanced at actual cost with receipts; PlateReady never marks up government money.
Tax and fee computations are based on the destination jurisdiction's published schedules as of the quote date and are verified before submission; if PlateReady's computed figure differs from the state's final figure due to our error, we pay the difference. State and county processing times are outside PlateReady's control; we track and pursue every submission until issuance.
PlateReady does not provide or assist with residency structuring, Montana LLC registration arrangements, or any strategy whose purpose is avoiding taxes lawfully owed to the buyer's home jurisdiction. Services in states requiring licensed third-party registration processors are performed only under the applicable license or through licensed partner channels.
